I have not posted much in this forum for a while, but as we wind down 2010, there are not many detecting days left, and for some parts of the country, there are none.
I was lucky enough to get out yesterday to a spot I have dubbed "the button field", as I have now dug more than 200 buttons. Most of these are flat civilian buttons, but there have been some nice military buttons as well including yesterday's early US Marine two piece which dates 1830-1840s.
The other two favorites are the 1812 US Navy one piece button dug earlier this year, and my third British Royal Regiment of Artillery button, which I found last week.
Happy Holidays and have a prosperous 2011!
