Best beach zones

So can y'all tell Im a beach newbie yet?

The more I learn about beach hunting the more I realize where you hunt is key. From some of the posts on this forum I think I understand that the best place to jewelry hunt is wet sand at low tide especially darker/black patches of sand. What is the zone in which you had the best luck?

ppl running, jumping into water.. all chains and ear rings (and swimsuits) are gone..
so.. pthe place where water is 3-4-5 ft depth

I think it's cause most machines act nutty right where the water moves at. The water moving across the coil on some units makes em very noisy.

Most Beach's change daily, Best thing to do is set back one day and watch the habits of the people, where they sit, come on to the beach, play, how far they go into the water, where they put there blankets..etc...Watch the tides, Say high tide is at noon, then low tide is about 7 hours later, {OC MD}, where were the people in the water at HT, compared to where the low tide lane is at 7pm

I detected a small beach the other day in the bay, the conditions were totally different, So you have to watch, learn, and be able to adjust..Another great tool is surfdiggers video's on You tube....And last secret is to watch the other hunters hunting Habits, there tools of the trade, etc...watch them like a Hawk........But remember there is alot of rookies out there, don't pick up there bad habits...........Best of Luck to you.......Joe...

Learn the beach where you hunt learn tide schedules and watch where people are
on the beach and where thru walk and play pay attention to waves and strength and
yes watch all videos on beach hunting like surfdiggers videos are a really great tool
along with others then read posts and ask questions on forum and ask hunters at the beach go and introduce yourself
most hunters I've meet have became very good friends and great hunting buddys,
hope this helps

being in the fresh water areas....Chicago to Milwaukee(lake Michigan) there are no real tides...I have good luck in the dry....where the people sit I can dig alot more targets ... i am too poor to get an excal or a cz yet:angel:preyin for another huge find for sum funds

About a foot over my head! I am 5'4" and I can't get out to where the men loose their heavy rings at.

At chest deep I am finding I can't put enough weight on the scoop, so that is also a limitation for me.

I find the majority of my stuff in wet sand to knee deep, usually where all the people sit in the water at.

Listen to Joe.

Get to know your beaches in ways you never did before.

peoples habbits, where they sit and swim.
note tide times for that effects where people end up for most of the day.

But most of all, Work in grids.
When you work in a grid from dry to wet sand. You cover the whole area. Leaving nothing to chance.

I have found great things in both the wet and dry sand.

People in the water loose items
People sunbathing above the tide loose items
People playing in the open sand areas behind the sunbathers, loose items.

Good Luck.

I hunt every area of the beach that people use.
The walls along the beach hold Rings.
The blanket line is good.
Of coarse the wet sand, and up to 10ft off shore.
Like it was said by ferdware, Griding is the way to go.
If you listen to the knowledge given in the forum.
Use it when you hunt, and the rings will come.
Oh yea and dig all targets!
