the forums. I want to take pictures of rings, relics and other 3 dimensional objects that I find. Maybe a camera that can be upgraded?

Someone post it here... I think Bill in Illinois just got one... Guvner..

I just sold my Sony DSC-S70 for a number of reasons - mainly it had too many bells and whistles for what I need a camera for. Mainly taking pictures to post on the Internet and to use in a database that I use that can store pictures with the items listed.
I looked at ALL the reviews and finally chose a new model KODAK DX3600 for a number of reasons. One feature is the built in 8MB of memory so you don't need to buy any additional memory - if you do want additional memory it uses CompactFlash memory cards ( 64MB cards for $35 at www.newegg.com) . The lens is threaded so you can add a filter and other attachments if you want. It uses 2 AA batteries and most important it has a macro capability for taking close up pictures - for instance coins. The camera also is capable of taking videos - with the only limit to length being how much memory you have in your camera ( CompactFlash cards go up to 256MB with 512MB cards on the way ). The camera and a 32MB CompactFlash card cost $380 delivered ( www.photoalley.com ) July special included a $50 instant coupon. If this is over your budget the "little brother" to this one is the DX3500 for $254 delivered from GateWay Accessory store with the $25 off coupon. (http://www.techbargains.com/coupons.cfm ).

I got one and its a decent digital camera for all that stuff I dont want to dump on the scanner.
