Bertha "Peterbilt" Bubblebutt's Ring

Well, not really, although when I dug it, I had horrible visions of being stalked by a massive thing just on the cusp of being classified as homo sapiens.

Hunted a baseball field located directly behind an older church early this morning. Very first plug was a 1953-D Rosie...this should be a good morning. Also pulled a 1942 quarter, filigree silver brooch (?), buttons, couple of Wheats, and Bertha's long lost ring. When I cleaned it at home, it stated, "Jack Earle, 8 ft 6, Giant". It's a scale-sized novelty ring honoring the Barnum and Bailey's giant attraction, Jack Earle. Cool! It rang up a solid 69; Lord knows why I dug it. Also, lower left in the pictures is an item that has a lion (Welsh?) on one side. It looks like a rivet button, but I'm not sure. Thoughts?

An excellent hunt, as usual. That ring is really, really cool. The item at lower left looks like the cap to a tube of ???. Congrats on the silver and other keepers!

Congrats!! good job, curious findings. I can not see well but the lion has wings and a "hand" on a book may be the Lion of St. Mark (Venice) ...
Thanks for showing

It should fetch an easy $25.00 if you were to sell it. Here's a little blurb I found for you......

"This Jack Earle Giant souvenir ring is a great piece of Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus Memorabilia, and also a great piece of history. Because of Jack Earle's limited engagement with the Circus this ring was most likely from the latter half of the 1920's or during the 1930's."

I would have dug that 69 too!! That's right where a good 14K mans gold band might come in!! Unfortunately, that is not one!! But still a great find, I'd be happy with that one any day!! Excellent silver coin finds, impressive day!!
