Belt Buckle

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone here knows anything about this belt buckle. I found it at a one room schoolhouse
it has solid brass printed on parts of it. The quarter
is to show size. Thanks for any help.

This insignia wasn't adopted by the US Gov't until after the Civil War. It appeared during the Indian Wars era and remains in use today. I suspect you have a military cadet buckle; circa 1950s. The rifles were straight at one time. Nice find and unusual to see. GH, David@Dixie
