Belt Buckle ?

Hello Everyone:

I am new to this site and I found something unique today. It appears to be a belt buckle. I found it near a100 year old building next to a brick walkway in the Cleveland area. Anyone have a clue to what it is? There are engraved letters on the front CDICO. I am cluless as to what it is and ideas would be appreciated.

Well posted this on another site and someone said "not belt buckle but was probably attached to leather at some time.". hmmmmm?

Interesting, can you tell us how big it is and what does the back look like?

Could you take a picture of the back and maybe something next to it for size reference? Dime or Quarter maybe. Unique find. Thanks for the picture and if you haven't already, maby put pictures of it in the Whatzit part of the forum. You'll get a lot more "lookers" there.

OK here is a picture of the back but I won't be able to measure it or take another picture of it until I get home. My guess is that it is approximately the circumference of a pop can and fairly weighty. Thanks for the replies and input. This is so exciting. I am really enjoying the treasure hunting. I will repost another picture later with a quarter next to it.

PS: On another forum people are suggesting it is a bridle rosette and that totally makes sense but still don't have a clue what the letters stand for yet.

I could not PM you

Do you use the Etrac or just a Post.

But Beth if you use the ET and post then you are one of three Women on this Forum
