belt buckle of some sort?

Found in my brothers yard here in Connecticut. Not sure what to make of it. Any ideas?

It's a wax seal /////stamp. See how the numbers are reversed?? I will guess from 1911. Push it down into some playdough or clay and see what it looks like.

First thought was military [11th regiment?] but that odd shape does not seem right for something like that. And does not look old enough to be Rev. war.
Second thought was [11 pipers piping]. from the 12 days of Christmas song.

Those are horns with two rings for a strap on them, right?
What is the size? and is it one cast piece or two pieces put together.?

Interesting find though hope someone knows what it is.

Looks vaguely like a Masonic Lodge jewel.

The twin towers. of Boaz and Jachin,

The number may refer to a specific lodge.

Purely guesswork, I am not a Freemason and have little insight to the workings of their order.

Pete in Tasmania

It has some green patina to it, one piece, copper, (not diecast) imprinted with horns . It is approx 2" long x 1 1/2 wide
Thank you for your responses

It is a fireman's helmet or dress cap emblem...notice the 2 old fashioned hose nozzles...Company 11 would be my guess...Might want to show it to a local firehouse chief and inquire about Company 11 or truck 11?
On second investigation, those hose nozzels may be shouting cones, used to communicate to the crew...You may have a Captain's or even a Chief's emblem...Makes it worth more.

HH,

Hi GoGogopher,

I believe you are correct. Never even gave that a thought. Hmmm there is a old firehouse less then a mile away from his house still in use today. Thanks a bunch for ID'ing the find. - Jim

HH,
Well to your bother in law and all the other fire fighters , I say "Thank you"!.

I have been in two burning buildings.. Total darkness because electric goes out and from smoke.. so you cant see anything.. , Black toxic smoke that stops your lungs from inhaling and drops you to your knees. and that was before I even seen a flame.
I went in and I got out on my own , just barely the second time.
Many cant get out on their own.

So, Thank you ! to the men and women of the F.D.
