Being that I never owned a Mine lab

I am looking forward to using/testing it in comparison to my other detectors

I was in the Atacama Desert recently and wanted to change coils on a mountain side in 40dg weather and let’s just say it was no easy feat.

I brought my 5 detectors for my trip and I could have walked back to my truck 2-3 miles and change entirely the detector but time was Precious at that specific moment.

I am hoping that the 5 frequencies will help me in the harsh environments that I tend to detect in.

I was relic hunting war sites. Did some nugget hunting but pretty much just found tons of pyrite with some gold but nothing to retire on as like most places they have been raked pretty well.

The soil is very very mineralized and really I should have used a PI machine but I have a hard time getting the wife to sign off for one lol.... She did surprise me with the EQ800 so I can’t complain unless it not useable where I need it to outshine my current fleet of detectors.

Frequencies will not guarantee more gold . The soil you hunt in is a big factor.

well 100% cant find something that's not there and if it can shoot gold out the coil sign me up otherwise renew the gym membership

I’m keeping my hopes up that the EQ800 will alleviate some of the challenges I encounter if different parts of the world I travel.

We all have pretty much have more than 1 detector for different environments and for me I’m taking the chance to see if the EQ800 will allow me to have confindece in “every” scenario I encounter.

So when I get mine, it will be a extra one to have to drag along and put to the test, to put some of them to rest

No I didn’t have the chance to make it out that way. I was trying to follow a regiments path to a place they got ambushed.

I was in a place that only had 2 hours of electricity a day, glad I didn’t bring recharable batteries in that location.

During this trip, I used all the detectors and the ones that gave me then most grief was the GB Pro with the 11” Coil and the White’s GMT.
When I put on the 5” Coil for the GB Pro it was useable but I felt I wasn’t really getting much depth.

The GMT in one area was un useable, and in the same exact spot the GBII excelled.

The AT pro was useable in all places I hunted (with the exception it wasn’t able to find the small gold) but it was stable in all locations. Mind you I put the stock DD coil in a river and it went bezerk which I assume it leaked water into the coil.... i let it sit for 30 mins and swung it like a baseball bat and voila was back in “land hunting” business.

As stated, I’ve never used a minelab Detector before. Will it help me with my hobby? I would like to say yes it will, just as my other detectors do, but I am wanting that extra edge over my current toolbox.

Hopefully the EQ800 can out perform all my detectors (with the exception of the GBII and it’s high frequency).
