Found the 1892 barber a couple of days ago. 1900 IH the day after that. Late last year I posted my prettiest IH, it was a 1900. This one is very close to that- the diamonds on the hair band are all there. Now I have two beautiful 1900 IHs.
Today I tried out my new toys; 8" concentric and 4.5x7 DD coils. I started out in our yard, I've been over it a zillion and one times. First gave a the 8" a try and got a wheat, then the 4.5x7 and picked up the 1901 IH.
The 4.5x7 behaves as any other DD, seemed to do better than the 7.5 Minelab or 10 stock coil as far as electrical interference; I could usually kick the sens to mid 20s even close to powerlines, generally could only run teens with the other coils.
I think I will need more time on the 8" concentric. I buried a penny 5" down in the yard. Seeing there is iron everywhere there is also iron in this hole. With the DD I could get a strong hit from one angle and a decent hit 15 degrees off in either direction, null from any angle greater than that(until you get around to 180 of course). Very typical DD behavior. With the concentric could get a good hit occasionally. Seems it either sees the iron or the coin on any given sweep. Definitely not as directional as the DD. ID seemed to be very similar to that from DDs. I have many locations that I've pounded with all my other coils, curious to see what these two can do.
