Beginners Luck or the Excalibur?

OUTATIME

Member
Well went out to the beach this Saturday and found some stuff.
I don't know if it was beginners luck or just cause I had the right machine. Just can't get over how deep this thing can go:lol:

Had a negative low tide to help though. By the way the thing in the bottom right hand corner is, what my nephew call a "grill" and it didn't come off a Ford. Anybody else ever find one of these? The things people wear these days!:yikes:

Got a question for all the experts, is there always stuff out there at the beach, or does fall/winter pretty much end the huntin season?
Thanks

Mark

It's definitely that machine! Way to go!

As for your question, you can absolutely find stuff in the winter. But there has to be some tidal action...erosion, cuts, etc. At Virginia Beach there is far more found in the summer than the winter. You can go out there for 3 hours and find a penny. After a storm or some heavy wave action that can change and there is always the chance. Some folks say the fall and winter is when things really pick up on their beaches. That may be at some spots, but is NOT the case here. Even with this Nor' Easter we had this weekend it hasn't stirred up much...a little clad. Pretty sad out there right now.

The fact of the matter is you got your coil over the targets. Luck maybe, but if you don't put your coil over the target, you ain't gunna find it. There are also a lot of times, that no matter what you do, you will not find silver or gold. The - low tides that you have now are allowing you to hunt deeper than normal. It is possible that the areas you hunted recently have not been scanned this year or maybe there is some sand moving out for you. Keep hitting this area hard until it plays out, there is more. The Excal is a great unit. I have had mine for a year this Jan. We git along just fine. Summer and winter are my favorite times to hunt. Fall and spring have been a little rough for finding the loot as the surf sands up more for me during those times. I love - tides, get out there every time they occur. It will pay dividends. Good luck! GH
