beginner with questions

I am looking to purchase my first detector. I have never used one, but it sounds like a fun hobby. I was thinking of using one mainly on a beach and looking for jewelery and coins. In my area I have the option of a Bounty Hunter Tracker II for $89.00 plus tax, a BH Quick Silver for $149 plus tax or a Garrett Ace 150 for $170 including tax. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated!

For a beginner I would check out the Garrett Ace 250 as it is a great detector with some nice features. Used I seen them as low as $140 while new for $199 which is a little more than the 150, but well worth it.
Another detector that been getting some great reviews is the Radio Shack 3300 which was on sale for $109 I believe. These are made by the same company as Bounty Hunter.
These are good beginner detector and if you like the hobby you can get a better one later.

The RS 3300 is a lot of bang for the buck, has a manual ground balance adjustment, good target ID and target seperation, and 4 tone ID. I bought the 4" nugget coil for it and it has been working out great. I use the 3300 for hunting parks and yards and a Tesoro Vaquero for hunting relic's and deep targets.
