what kind of detector or you using,IM new to water detecting I just got my GARRETT infinium LS,
ANY tips!!!THANKS.ITS like there is more rings in the water than on land,is this the case.Ihave been hunting for about 12 years or so,I found 23 rings,MY hole time i been hunting.SO i whent out and got me the LS.I hope its a good detector, what do you think?THANKS fot any help.:please:

Well, I use the Excaliber in the water. The water is where most of the rings come off. Sure, you can find stuff in the dry sand occasionally, but most people lose their rings, necklaces, etc. in the water. What happens is you put lotion on to protect from the sun & that makes your rings loose anyway. Then you go to the water to cool off & that makes your fingers contract to the cold & the combination of lotion & contraction causes the rings to slip off.

In the dry sand, you are more likely to find pocket change, car keys, earrings, etc. Things that you take off before you go in the water.

If you are in an area that has a lot of tidal movement, you need to look for cuts, pockets, swirls, etc. where the heavy stuff gets washed into. Sinkers, coins, gold, silver, shells & rocks. Low tide is the best time to excess areas that people normally swim in. You can get the tidal charts off the internet for the area that you live in or hunt in. You can also bye watches that can be programed to give you tidal movement in a given area.

I hope this helps you HH

Here's some of my loot: Rings on a silver necklace - All my stuff - (An old pic)

Hey goldman, I have the Infinium and it's a great machine! This detector DOES have a learning curve, but once you understand it you'll really like it.

I would read the posts on the Infinium site to learn all the tips and tricks in setting up the machine and using it correctly!!!

Post any questions and help is here!!!

Thanks!
