Still tryin to get over the BH=Fisher deal, but , just how well are the F2's holding up? they got the same Fisher rod as of old-3pc? a good one? how's battery life? and what is the freq?, if i think on it a little more I may go back to Fisher stuff, if all looks good will be calling my Fisher dealer, if they givin the 4 in coil too, tnx all

Mine's doing pretty well, post repairs...

It came-in dysfunctional, but Fisher fixed it up. Like a new machine now.

I believe (manual doesn't say, website doesn't say) that they run at around 6.5 khz. I know that BH coils work on mine because I used a BH coil on it for awhile.

The new F2s I'm seeing on "The Bay" aren't offering the extra coil and lower rod anymore. That might have been a Christmas package deal. I could be wrong abt that.

I'm liking mine as a coin-shooter, it's producing lots of clad and two wheaties in just 4 hunts.

Target seperation is above average and it works good at detecting targets next to a 'hot-rock' I use as a tester. This rock gives some of my machines fits.

I'm running sensitivity @ 2-3 on trashy sites and still able to hit targets 4+ inches deep. I can't see that it's really any better than most TID machines I've used at IDing nickels, but I'm no expert with the machine after so few hunts.

Seems like some aren't running like they should and some are. Fisher service, if you need it, has been very responsive. Felix is Top-Notch.

I may just order one, no more than they cost, I've lost more than that on some o the big dollar ones, in trade and depreciation, was gonna use it mainly for coinshootin anyway, had several fishers, all kinds, from 1212's to C$ and they was all good, sooooooooo , will probly give the texas fisher folk a try, tnx

Yep..stopped by a local ball field that has been closed for about a year. After getting my machine put together and I started to hunt, did not get far from the truck and the F2 rang with a high pitch sound and read 72 on the meter. It was shallow perhaps 2 inches. and turned out to be a 1967 clad dime. The remainder of the hunt was one and a half hours and yielded 11 coins...all new money...but 2 of them were nickels...I have not found a nickel in a long time. I am well pleased with the F2 and yes i have the small coil and gonna give it a try very soon.

RAIN_RAIN, but did a lot of testing, all seems well, workmanship, ID , airtest/depth, I think it's gonna be OK, checked out both coils, and eventhe fit behind my truckseat,, all looks good :)

Bulgar,
You made a good decision. I too was upset with the BH / Fisher union and I have owned 15 different Fisher models since 1971. Read my review of the F2 and here is a picture of coin finds after 2 hours of hunting around a foundry that was converted to an orange juice processing plant in the 1940's. These finds were made using the 4" coil as machine parts are very numerous on foundry grounds. Here's to "diggin it"!
