For a few hours today I went over an area I'v hunted a few times previously, this time using my trusty Toltec II. Only this time, feeling a bit on the lazy side, I had the disc. set to knock out zinc's and anything below.

Found the silver cross and chain in the same hole.

Coin count was 2 wheat cents, 2 clad dimes and four copper cent's. Not to mention I dug a whole lot less holes.:detecting:

Trash to treasure ratio is what it is all about.Once you find ways to dig treasure quickly without the trash ratio you can quickly get the silver.By you working the disc in the higher range, you quickly were able to find silver.WTG!! That's a beautiful cross! :goodnight:

thats pretty good picking up an odd shape like a cross , that is a nice find, I hear you , somtimes i get to whear i dont like to dig everything and turn up the disq , as well

The park head said don't come back.I can not go to a public site or a private residence and dig all signals i get.We got to address this.We need not tell a newbie to go out and dig all signals at the local park.We need to tell the newbies how to find coins with less trash or we are done.Learning how to find more treasure with less trash is important also.I know.I dig it all.Let me hear it. :argue:

The rest of your chain might still be there. I would go all-metal in the immediate area around the plug. I have done this after digging pendants and retrieved chains that were otherwise invisible in disc mode.

Nice silver! Ism is right, there's a very good chance that the rest of the chain is close by.
