Been shopping around for a dry suit...................

They are VERY expensive. I just thought it would be real cool to have onw as opposed to the neoprene waders. I don't like having depth limitations as to where I hunt. Need a lighter weight 1 and good mobility. Sometimes it's just too cold for the wetsuit. Do any of you have drysuits? Lemme know whatcha run. I don't need one for REAL cold water as I am in the Gulf of Mexico. It's considerably warmer than the oceans. You yanks out there would probably still be wearing shorts out here, when I'm in the wetsuit. Texas natives git cold though! GH

Hi Gulf Huntter, I bought a custom wet suit for about $400. The water here in Naples Fla. get about 60 degres in the winter . Dry suits in this area start at $1200 to $4000.I hunt in water up to my neck. You can get a good wet suit for $200 to $300 or a surf suit for less it just depens or how warm you want to be .My suit is just a body suit and it keeps me nice and warm.

I have been thinking about a dry suit as well because water temps get into the low 30's here...

Here are a few sites you can check out if you like :)

I own a couple of dry suits that I used for catamaran racing. My favorite is the Kokotat brand. These will run around 750.00 and up for a breathable (goretex) suit. Don't even waste yor money on a non breathable suit, Your sweat will drench you from the inside out and you WILL get cold. I found that little tidbit of info out the hardway. You may want to check Murrays marine or possibly West Marine.
NRS from the above post is affordable also.
Any questions feel free to shoot me an E-mail.
Stay warm,

I can't remember how cool our water gets here in Galveston, but I think it is around 60 also. It is pretty cold in my 3 mil wetsuit, when it is cold and overcast, especially when I get out of the water. Was just thinking about the drysuit. Sure don't want to spend what they are asking for a drysuit though. Undecided, but thanks to all who once again came to my aid. I will let ya'll know if I decide to make a move. GH

Gulf Hunter,

Been on Ebay and they have some deals on dry suits but caution that again.....you never know what your buying. Seen some running around $350 and up on Ebay.
