Two weeks ago I had the flu and could not go out MD. This past week my wife has the flu and I could not MD. It has gotten me to start reading this forum. I am a MD junkie and I had to get my fix. Well I had some business in Daytona Beach today and my wife suggested the salt air would be good for my lungs. That was the hint my wife was feeling better and I could crank up my Ace 250. Oh happy day! I got there early, just before sunrise, kicked off my shoes, and away I went. I hit the showers, they are on the beach and people throw their things on the rail then shower. It was low tide and the wet flats looked like there could be some Spanish gold. Had to turn the sensitivity down. No gold just pennies. I went back up to dryer territory. Full speed ahead! Oh no the trash cans. They are elevated on posts and people miss the cans with their trash. I get a hit next to the can 6+ between tab and penny. It is deep, but I won't let sugar sand stop me. It took me 3 scoops with my extra large ice scoop/ coin retriever. I get all hyped up, but I know it is just going to be a pop tab. As I sift the sand though my fingers out pops a diamond and gold ring. I like that sentence because that is what I had at that moment. It was shinny gold. I found out later it was gold plated with 7 zirconium. I found 6 fake rings this year and that was the best looking one yet. I found a gold ring this summer appraised at $300 and a nice sterling sliver with a 1 caret zirconium. My Ace 250 is paid for.
