Huntress and I went for a spin on 07/13, into a 911P -1.1L and WSW winds at 5-10. We hunted 5 surf areas this evening, with the Excals. We were in the water at the 1st location at 630P and I ended up with $.37 and a 10 pence Elizabeth coin and we left there at 730P. Hit the next area at 745P and hunted there till 8P and it was BAD! I think Huntress had a ring there. We hit the next area at 815P and I had $.87 there and left at 910P. At 915P, we tried an area next, that had produced silver last year and I headed for the mine. Ended up with $.32 here, but I had a REAL SWEET low tone and fanned out the hole, after a couple of unsuccessful scooping attempts and grabbed onto the class ring.

It was of course a welcome sight and stainless. Huntress may try to locate this person, as it is from a local area school. We left this area at 10P and moved to another area nearby, shortly after 10P. Coins were more plentiful here and I ended up with $1.69, at this last location. I got a strong high tone and out pops this solitare. It had a ring sizer and looked kind of copper, so I did not get my hopes up. Turns out it is total nitro! Copper, with gold plating and CZ!

Gotta hate it! I was still pleased seeing 2 rings of any kind though and was hopeful of future hunts. We baled at 12A.

Do you usually his so many spots for such a short period of time at each? It takes me quite a while to cover even a small area while in the water. I just can't move that fast! Or perhaps you just move on if an area doesn't seem to produce targets quickly?

I look for targets of density, like coins or lead. If I am only getting can slaw or pull-tabs and the bottom feels squishy or soft, I'm outa there!

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the reply/tip!
