and was wondering if the xterra 705 would be a good machine to re-learn on. I have had Fishers, Garretts, and Whites but never a minelab, any input would be appreciated thanks tim

I believe that it would be just fine for someone that has already some experience, even if not recent. It has a number of automatic functions that make it as easy as you would like, or it can be as manual and as complex as you might care for. It certainly is capable enough to run with the big guns, and versitile enough to be suitable most anywhere on land.

I just got mine and I know from what others are saying it's a great machine. I am a rookie at detecting, but thankful to have a great local resource in MoRelic. He has own dang near every machine out there and swears by the 705. I am looking forward to my first lesson

I come from your background, had Jetcos, Whites, Tesoros, switched to Minelab about a year or so ago (reluctantly at first BTW) and I'm glad that I did. Takes just a short time to get used to the differences, but like previously said, the weight alone will have you loving it! Our family and friends have purchased (5) 705s so far ..... Do it, don't look back, practice a little, and like Kickin' wing in the Joe Dirt movie says, get the good stuff! :super:

Tim...I think that you would enjoy and do really well with the 705. I just recently purchased one myself. Also my first Minelab. I had used Tesoros previously and am in the process now of learning the Minelab 705. So far it really hasn't been that difficult. Like Oldlonghair said you can make it easy or complex as you want. Right now I'm in the lets make it easy stage and just learning the functions...........and so far.......so good. I am really loving it so far. Don't be afraid of it by any means!

Get out and hunt and post up here!! You will do great wit one of the best machines made...an X-Terra!!!!!!.....Mark
