Been lurking, learning. New Racer is on the way to me.

I've been on the lookout for a light weight high performing detector that can deal with bad ground. The you tube video I saw with the red Culpepper Va. soil in a tub with the target beneath it impressed me. I've hunted a little in the Staunton / Greenville area during a visit to family. That is some tough soil, someday I hope to participate in a DIV hunt. The video of the racer hitting a deep target in wet salt sand impressed me, the nail board test too....everything about this unit seems above its price point or just perfect. I wanted the small 5" coil with it and ended up with the pro pack for just $30. over (w/free delivery) what a new Racer sells for by itself at discount. I know there's a lot of fluff in the pro pack but that's ok. I had considered the XP Deus for a long time but the racer just seemed perfect for my hunting. I treated myself for my birthday (today) when I closed the deal last night. Racer may arrive by 11/2.
I haven't posted for a while but those that know me understand that I almost always go with two detectors, the V3i and ATPro when I'm doing turf...now it will be three detectors.
I'll be watching this board to see the experiences users have with the Racer.

Better check and see how much you can sell the other two for. Gratz

V3i and Racer here also. Had an AT Pro, was very disappointed by it in many ways so it went bye - bye.

Tom, sometime I'd like to hear your thoughts on the ATPro. Shoot me a message or whatever you like. If the Racer was waterproof then It could replace the ATP for the nasty places I've used. I have done well in the 2 1/2 + years I've had mine.
The V3i is in a class by itself , over 4 years with it and I love it. The Racer should compliment what I already own and see some heavy usage.

Welcome to the Racer world..

Your going to have an Overly Easy Success Rate...

Simple setup with high end result's..

Almost like cheating when you use it..Put the OOR5 on and take it to a spot full of iron you've beat on for years and then report back and tell us if you found some non ferrous intermingled ..

Thats the beauty of it you turn it on set your tone option ground grab and listen for the goodies...trash sound's like trash and goodies sound,,, well like goodies...

Thanks Keith, I studied up on the Racer before I pulled the trigger to buy. Your comments are close to the impression I came away with after reading field tests, watching videos and reading user comments. The operation of the unit is straight forward with abilities and features I understand very well. I've done well in iron with my other "go to" land detectors and think the racer will be even better. The ability to cancel out bad ground and wet salt yet still hit targets hard and clear impressed as well. I'm real picky about the detectors I buy & use because I expect a long, happy and productive relationship outta them.
