Been looking ..........

at some listings for homes for sale in my area.

This one is a little rough in spots, looks like it needs some major roof work and some work on the inside from what I can see but man, it's out in the country right off of and facing 280.

Could be a nice little spot and home if it doesn't cost a arm and leg to fix up for $74.500. I would need to get a rider mower and burn barrel for sure ;), lots of yard, maybe a acre or two, just not sure I'm up for another fixer upper. Would have to cash out my IRA for the down payment, not much in there anyway after all that has happen, might as well put it to good use or what is left, I'm just seeing what is out there and what my options are

trusses etc, what we do here is just lay down metal roofing right over the existing roof, no strapping, just screw it on because the asphalt roofing acts as a membrane which is normally needed under metal roofing to prevent condensation problems, or if in doubt just roofing paper under it. Permanent and good looking, cheaper and can do it your self.
Looks last the last reno was ala 60' 70's paneling but you can fix that yourself cheap and who cares, unless you were gonna flip it just live in it.
If the foundation and structure is good i assume your good to go cause you have the ability to do much of it.

love the location, when I moved from Wisconsin to Alabama I gave away my tools thinking I'm done with that pain in the butt in my life

Wonder if I can get those boys to come out and visit me and bring my tools with them :clapping:

You got the skills so I would suggest you go for it. The place looks like it needs a good dog though. ;)

That is a very nice place!!! Not looking to move though.

I like my 20 acres on the river just fine. But if I were wanting a move, that one has a very nice feel to it!!

Why is it empty??
