It's a keeper,,it's not often areas produce old coppers in that shape. It's a sign there is not much sulfur in the soil. Where there is one Indian there are more. I prefer to hunt areas like this,,because what you find is probably going to be in good shape.
I suggest you mark off a small area,,put er in all metal,,sensitivity high and dig everything. Looking for deep targets and see what it produces.
I have done this to large areas before,,it takes allot of time and effort. If you are getting rewarded with old coins it's worth it.
A few years ago I found a 1867 Indian in EF condition. It red booked at $160 + . I swear it looked like it had been in a coin holder all them years. I took it to a local coin dealer that I had dealt with before. He knew I found coins metal detecting and told me once ,I will never find a coin worth anything. He gave me $100 for it.
We all know his statement is untrue,,silver comes out,, like it goes in,,,,but he is one of those people that if he owns it,,it's nice,,if you own it,,it's not so nice. Ya know what I mean???
