I KNOW I'm gonna have fun with the Garrett.

I started this metal detecting thing in the early 70's, beginning with a tr Goldak from Gardena, CA. It wasn't much but it was a first.

I bought a couple of the early Garretts, a Whites or two and some Fishers along the way. Two years ago, I bought a minelab explorer and sold it within a year.

I currently have a sea hunter I bought in 1988. It was good until it sprang a battery leak and has really messed things up inside. Thinking of having it looked at, but suspect it will cost more to fix than to buy another water machine.

Now, I have run the race and am back to Garrett. I think the little Ace 250 will be the ticket, once I learn it. One thing about Garrett...the machines are powerful and generally, very user friendly.

Its been raining here for two days and the ground will be nice soft for next week's maiden voyage with the A250. I can't wait. <><

That I can't personally answer for you but there are a few guys on the forums that use one in that area and also on the saltwater beaches and do well with them. Here in Oregon we have volcanic soil and it works well here. Let us know how it works for you.

Dang! You don't even have to leave home to find the goodies. I cleaned my yard out years ago and my wife found a nice Black Hills gold ring in the yard.
