Been doing some homework with Anfibio 14 air test

For those who may be interested today i took some items outside in a clear spot in my yard.I have not done anything like this in a long time. I only do it with detectors I really like. So I guess that is why I went ahead and proceeded with my little field test. I had the settings on my Anfibio 14 as follows. 3 tone, no disc and 65 gain. I took several items and did a TID test with the Anfibio 14 and here are the results. Some of the items locked on and some varied a bit depending on the angle I swung over each target. Most of the TID values stayed pretty much at one TID number. I recorded the varied TID number range as well for each item.

Square Tab 30

Nice WORK-UP there "Big Time." I sure it will be referenced back to by many in the future. It's nice to see somebody with a new machine wanting to help the NEXT NEW GUY...and "pay it along." Keep up the GOOD WORK!

Tonight's Top Tip: Remember to Ground Balance often, after every major setting change, and just as "good practice" every hour or two. Kicking the elbow out behind you, gives you a natural fast, easy pump that keeps the coil more parallel to the ground. Pump until the background noise is as quiet as it will go, do NOT STOP when you hear the loud beeping. Those last few pumps are really like your "fine tuning."

Hey Jack I never thought of doing that before. I will try it next time. I also noticed it takes a bit after you ground balance it to go into the search mode. So I just hit the pin point button immediately after I ground balance it and take off detecting. But I will try to ground balance a couple of times to see how it does with the fine tuning method you have described.

Hey this is how we all learn you know, bouncing off tips and such. .

Also I wish I could edit the original post but I cannot. I found a good old fashon bottle cap in my mom inlaws yard tonight. Hit a solid 72 in the ground.

Once I took it home and did my little air test on it, it would vary from 68 thru 72.

So with that being said, I like how it detects a bottle cap in the zinc penny number range. Where as on the "Other" brands I have used in the past, the old bottlecaps would ring up in the quarter range. I am kind of happy about that as it will be easier to maybe ID them before I did them if I come across a lot in a trashy area.

I believe the bottle caps ring up in the zinc range on the anfibio is due to the 16-99 TID spectrum where as some of the units I used before iron stopped at 40 and the non ferrous started after that.

I have also learned how to save my settings now. Man it is so cool to just fire it up and go.

BigTime: Nice work...you seem to really be "tuned in" to all the little attributes of your new Anfibio! If you collect a few more items and the reading for those, say a half dozen, post the fact you would like your list updated, and I will see that it is taken care of. :) Thanks again for your help with helping others. People like you are a rare breed these days...and APPRECIATED HERE.

I found a couple of items today that I will add to the list. I think I can just copy and paste what I have done already and then add a few more items. I will keep everyone updated.
