The past few days have been very confusing. I have tried to keep up, but could not stay on line long enough to communicate with all. Kept being knocked off line. After a lot of mental anguish, I found that in my file section I had checked the work off line box. Never said I was real bright, but at least I have found the problem. Would one of you send me a personal message to see if that problem is solved too. Thank all of you for being my friends.

I posted to the Guv. I can send messages, but can't open private messages on this forum. If any of you know how to contact the Guv, i'm sure it's a forum fix.

Wondering do you have call waiting? If so and you checked the box in the dial up network that says "Disable Call Waiting" it could be knocking you offline.

I have both access to a dial up account and use cable modem. I run into problems when trying to get connected on the cable modem because the dial up pops up because it wants to be first to connect.

Solution there was to tell the dial up network to not dial unless no connection was detected - and with cable it is always detected. What happened before I made that change is I'd click the X in the corner of the dial up connection to close it or use cancel and Internet Explorer would say I was 'working offline' at the top of the IE window. Since I supposedly was 'working offline' IE would not do anything except look into my harddrive and bring up the last info it had instead of getting the fresh stuff off the internet.

Maybe this is the problem you are having. Hope this helps and isn't too confusing.
