Been checking out Treasure 580 pi pinpointer anyone

I have the 2" head and it performs as advertised. Have had it to snorkeling depth with no issues. Nice to be able to carry a waterproof pinpointer, even if its a bit larger than I would like.

I'm a diver I have a Vi bra Probe 730. Works great but it floats and turns on which conflicts with my EX-CALL. Does any one know of a waterproof pin pointer with a switch?

1 Garrett ProPointer
1 Bicycle tube 1.75-2.125
rubber cement
rubber bands.

Slip PP into tube, rubber cement the ends, fold over and hold in place with rubber bands.

Works good so far. Have only had it in 1 foot of water but should be OK at snorkeling depth. Also great for use in the mud!

If yo have a vacuum sealer, seal the pinpointer in a bag. Do not vacuum as you will lose function of the button, just seal as close as possible on both sides. Works well.

i have the unit--i bought it because i wanted a pinpointer that only detects from the tip as it's easier to pinpoint. my primary use is on land with a tesoro vaquero. i also use it for beach hunting in the wet sand with my garrett seahunter 2--it picks out the tiny stuff very easily.

i've seen others say that the probe is long and heavy--not an issue for me--that's a personal preference.

i don't dive--but this unit is built like a tank-supposed to be waterproof so i take the mfg. at their word-there are no on/off switches--you just point the unit up or down to turn it on/off.

I have had my 580 for a few years with zero issues. I love it! I land hunt only, but get it plenty muddy. It is built like a tank, and very easy to wash off in the sink.

I have the 580 and love the second one just as much as the first one. These suckers float so make sure if you are going in the water that you use some sort of lanyard. I had a lanyard on the first one but... it wasn't clipped and floated off with out me knowing it. The second one has a rubber strapped sewed to the holster to keep it in place. It will float up if it isn't secured as you get deeper in the water.
