I havent been on the forum for more about 3 weeks. i've been digging and water hunting, just not posting beyond a couple of facebook groups I'm in. I know I've missed many good finds posted here. I should post in the todays finds forum cause I'm using a couple to a few different detectors all the time. The thing is I like to talk and read about the nuances of each detector and I get more of it on the detector specific forums.
Below are a 1940's-50's trench lighter made in Detroit, a silver was nickel, .38 special bullet and ladies compact. I'm gently trying to get some penetrating oil into the seam of the lighter to get it to loosen over time. Small religious medal, nothing special - aluminum.forgive my spelling, i'm not really checking anything except my images. trying to get ready to go detecting a few hours toady. the diamond jubilee Boy Scout medal was a banger and found in a place we pull coppers from. and not ro be disappointed I got KG III it seems like an underweight contemporary counterfeit, I'll have to check more on that hunch. Next is a sweet water hunt with a huge bonus. The native american point blew me away. I spent 8 plus hours two days before that detecting in fields with my V3i that is famous for these and only got 1 silver and (1 antique) gold rings (ok LOL). Im going to put those rings you dont see here up soon on one of the boards. The ATP pulled this older gold band from an area my Excal nulls really bad, i knew there was stuff mixed in with the iron and the ATPro made it easier to pick it out.Religious medals, and small jewelry items made of base metals are really common finds there. sorry I didnt rotate the photo. 3.9 DWT or 6.1 grams of 14K. there is a silver dime in there too. I wnet back back the next day and kicked it really good with one of my regular water units in a less junky area in neck deep water, pulling 7 silver coins and a couple religious medals, one is .925. I'm going to wear duofold long underwear under my 5mil wet suit the next time and 3mil neoprene socks under my 5mil dive boots. That lake water is so cold now. Maybe I'll post it all up later on todays finds. I got to get out hunting now.
