Been a little crazy in Bermuda lately.

I flew out to Canada mid-month to be there for my Mom while she underwent heart surgery (it went well and she is doing fine now). All the while Bermuda Immigration had the Sword of Damacles hanging over our heads as we awaited an appeal of their ruling that we must leave the island. (Bermuda is eliminating foreign workers wherever possible to keep its' unemployment rate low) The appeal went through so it looks like we will be staying in Bermuda for a while longer, probably until the end of the year.
The good thing that came out of this is that we have decided to take a year off and go around the world. Further proof that good things can come out of bad messes.
Anybody with any experience in this RTW trip adventure? I'd love to hear your comments.

Cheers,

as the Around the World thing goes, I have no clue. It will take a lot of money AND planning for sure. Much has to go rght and lots can go wrong. Good luck, I sure would do it myself if I had the money. I have the time but

She did that a couple of years back. I will ask if there are any hints she can give

Cheers

When we factored in the lower cost of living in most of the countries we will be visiting it actually worked out cheaper than staying at home and doing nothing for a year. Bermuda does have a high cost of living but even still it is a bargain. I expect that the whole year will cost us around $25k/person for my wife and I.
We have the time, we have the money and since my wife's eyesight is failing this may be her only chance to see the world if the technology to repair her vision doesn't develop in the next 5 years. Needless to say we are going for it.
