It got a little cooler here in Western New York and we got some rain so I have felt ok about digging in the lawns of our permissions. I had two great pocket spills: a wheatie, a Merc, a Barber dime and a Barber Quarter. A week later I got: a Rosie, a Merc, 2 Washington Quarters (Silver) and a Ben Franklin half in one hole. I almost walked away from that last one after finding one dime and two quarters as there weren't any sounds from the pinpointer but after putting the plug back i waved over it and got a good signal and continued to find the other dime and half. these were both at old homes. Then 2 & a half weeks ago I got one for my bucket list: A 3 cent silver, 1856 at a small public area in a small town. I went back this week and got the Indian Heads, 2 Shield Nickles( by my buddy) and the 3 cent nickle.!!! The 3 cent nickle was in a hole with an Indian Head or else I wonder if I would have found it. I also found a ERIE Railroad lead seal there. Ever since I got the Deus i have basically used Andy Sabisch's HiPro Coin mode that is in his book. I tweak it for the conditions that I'm detecting at but that is basically it.
I probably never would have found all of this if it weren't for the "House Whisperer" as I call him. I always wanted to try to walk up to someone in the yard and ask to detect their yard but just couldn't summon up the courage to do it but my buddy can do this without a problem so I am very lucky to have met him this year. We try to split up everything that we find together and work as a team that way.
