Bedliner paint on coil

John(Tx)

New member
Since my Excal is now out of warranty and I hate to use the cover, what bedliner paint do you guys use? Does it just come in a spray can or can you buy a can and brush it on? I've already put the Peltor 101's on and I can hear whispers I couldn't hear before. Thanks, HH

I bought mine at Auto-Zone. Spray some on a piece of cardboard first and check it with your detector to make sure there is nothing metallic in the paint. Mine is black but they may have another color that you could see in the water better. HH :minelab:

You can buy it in roll on or spray paint at most auto stores. Like he said, spray a heavy coat onto some cardboard and then swing the coil over that to make sure no zinc or other metals are in it. For land hunters about 3 coats is good, but I'd do 8 or 9 coats on a water machine. Let it dry two hours in the sun between coats because I think if it isn't given a good amount of time to harden and you spray more coats on top the inner layers stay soft. I used Rustoleum spray on bedliner on mine.
