Bed rock beep ?

I found some bed rock here in the Dahlonega Ga. area on a old mine site, got a very good sound from a Deus unit, not to the sides , but from the center.of the bed rock . Now can bed rock do this if its not gold or silver in it ????

There can be gold in bedrock several inches down, Time for doing some hard core rock busting. What kind of rock?

You'll never know if you don't bust it out. Detectors don't lie !!!

I think I'd try renting a diamond saw or jack hammer for this job.

There can be voids in bedrock. Take your rock pik and tap tap on the area as a hollow signal will follow. Up here is a shale overlaid by a serpentine lens that you just tap tap and smash and viola there she be. Crowbar/chisel and a mallet are good to have around-lotza luck-John

This section of bedrock has a very small stream of water running down it & the signal goes up the bedrock & and there are cracks in it---, did not look at what my VDI numbers were on the Deus , but were good strong ones. Im going back and get into it and see what going on it ---

Do break it open, but yes, rocks can have concentrations of iron minerals that make them beep like a target, when its only mineralization. Look at the discrimination numbers and see what you have before you put loads of energy into it. I've found loads of rock that sounds off, even on PI detectors that are much more resistant to mineralization than the Deus.

The Deus and Fors are indeed interesting imports for sure but must admit I still coveth my ol' tried and true simplistic GB2 and TLST. Much easier, lighter and quieter to run-John
