Bed liner for a coil cover

Does anyone know the process for making a coil cover from bed liner or similar material??? Also would it effect depth or anything? Also what brand bed liner would be good to use?

I checked out a video on Youtube :super: I think I will try it out. Hopefully it goes well

I use Loctite marnie epoxy from home depot. mix it paint it on and it dries solid. I've been doing it on my water detector for the last few years. Much better then using a coil cover in the water. JMO

cool deal I will have to try that out. The black sand here is killer so I think the bed liner Idea is the way to go.

Some guys use the bed liner stuff. Me...I've been using the regular undercoating spray can stuff that you can get at any parts store. Have used it for years with no loss of performance IMO. I usually clean the underside of the coil then slightly sand it with fine sandpaper. Then I use rubbing alcohol to clean it completely. Remember when doing this...Start with light coats and finish with light coats.. The heavier you spray the coats the longer it takes to dry and it tends to get a tacky feeling, (Don't ask how I know this). I did several of my X-Terra coils about 4 years ago and have yet to touch them up. Oh...I've always used Rust-Oleum Undercoating but, just the other day I bought some Blue Magic Pure Rubber Coating and I liked it better. Both products were bought at Pep Boys. The Blue Magic really shoots out a powerful spray. Try it on cardboard before you use it on the coil. You have to hold it at least a foot away from the coil. It's not rocket science and I'm sure you will be glad you'll no longer have to worry about the coil cover .
