becoming a vaquero owner once again!

hey guys wanted to ask you vaquero and cibola owners that have bought new ones with in the last year do you guys seem satified with the depth your getting? and everything works as it should? just asking these questions in light of the last vaquero i owned did'nt seem to have the nuts like my others did and that it was the high tone and decided i like regular tone better, but just to say this to of all the machines i've owned over the years i keep coming back to tesoro and yes i do like fishers but not the F/T stuff though and the one tone seems to be fail proof, tones and screens i've learned keep you wondering if i should have dug that target or not and second guessing where the old single tone tells it like it is and will spit at you or blat at you on big iron, yep its a single tone and trained ear that will get the goodys for sure this is why i keep coming back i think, your thoughts please!

I have a Vaquero that I bought new a couple of years ago, and although it is not the only detector I have,
I do like it's performance and especially like using it just as much if not more than an ID machine when hunting around
old homesites in the boondocks.
It is very light and I'm sure it gets better depth than what I have found so far, but I have learned that depth isn't everything,
and some of my oldest coins were less than 3 inches in the ground.
I have the high tone model and like it much better than the low tone.
I think my preference for the high tone comes from using a MInelab Musketeer which has a very high tone.... much higher than the Vaquero.
I have the stock coil and the 5.75 concentric and both are great in my opinion.
Hope this helps some,
Felix

I have the low tone V. Out of the 3 that I use the most it gets nearly twice the depth and its, to quote the English, "spot on" with pinpointing.
If I could only keep one it would definitely be the V.

amcjavelin, I was curious why you sold your cz3d and came back to a non metered detector. I have a cz5 and wouldn't trade it for a vaquero. just curious what you didn't like about the cz3d.................roger

well as i stated up above and don't get me wrong i do like the machine i actually loved the machine for its beautiful audio on faint signals but sometimes the tones would leave me wondering if i should of dug that or not? so i decided to get another vaquero and stay single tone, to me little less guess work by thumbing the disc knob, so i'm liking the results its the hottest one yet i've owned, in my test bed i have dime not quite on edge about 6 to 7" and its hitting that using the 5.75" coil all easy and is half super tuned the disc seems to work better than the ones i had prior the dealer i got it from was telling me that with the stock coil he was hitting .54cal three ring bullet burried at 10" in his garden so i beleive it with the results i'm getting so far

Amcjavelin. I have owned a Vaquero for only 2 weeks and I am all smiles. I'm mostly a tone id guy, and so I never thought using a single tone machine
could be so enjoyable, but it has been. The Vaquero is an impressive machine, lightning fast recovery time, with good depth, dead-on pinpointing, and great audio on deepies. It hits nickels, tabs, and small gold hard like very few other machines can. And I absolutely love the 5.75" coil too - in fact I haven't taken it off since I bought the machine and don't think I ever need to. I think you have made a fine choice getting a Vaquero again - you won't go wrong with it.

Thanks,

Mark

well i have'nt really got to go on a hunt yet but this week end got permission to hunt this field in a very political area where cannon balls have been found and quarter of a mile away hannibal hammlin house is near which was the vice president to abraham lincoln so hoping to find some buttons or coins or maybe some cool finds i will make a vid of it for sure!

Why cant you use both? I have both and I havent a problem with single or multiple. Keeps it interesting. Dug alot of trash with both and the 3D has given me more valuable treasure.

well i havent had the cash to keep both, just recently bought a truck so that depleted savings and well who knows maybe down the line but i do know one thing no more of the digital style detectors there to me not what there cracked up to me!

Like Tabdog used to say. If you like and learn your machine its " the best one". I know and like all mine ,from my BH LandStar to my Minelab 705..which i do use and like.
Each machine has its ups and downs, good and bad. but if you dont take time to learn them, their useless.
Some machines ive used i couldnt deal with the sounds they made, but were good ones to use.
The detector thats comfortable to you is the right one ,the Best one. good luck too ya ,many many happy finds!
