After my first month with the Etrac, I have to say I'm well on my way to joining the "Etrac Fan Club". For thirty days now, I've resisted the plaintive looks my White's M6 gives me as I head out the door with the Etrac.
The Etrac has rewarded me with a notable find on every hunt thus far (I hope to have pictures online soon.):
1) A silver ring,
2) A 1945 quarter and a 1935 Buffalo nickel (in a well hunted park - quarter had to be 8-9 inches down),
3) a 1918 dime,
4) 9 wheaties (total from 4 hunts),
5) a cache/pocket spill of 67 coins (sadly all modern) and
6) a mystery item found at a mine operated by the Spanish conquistadors.
I'm sure part of it is that I'm digging pretty much everything that gives a good solid signal and signals that bounce between Conductive > 45 and Ferrous=1 / Conductive=30-35 (that condition lead me to the dime and several of the wheats).
I've tried the 2TF on a couple of occasions without great success, but I think that it is just a matter of time before that method really works extremely well for me in the right conditions.
I can see that the Etrac truly is an amazing machine and I am getting really excited about the possibilities with it. Now if it will just start finding the gold for me the way the M6 has, I will become a "True Believer"!
Thanks for all the hints and encouragements given to me and others in learning this cool machine.
