Becareful on batteries (update)

I posted a while back about a freind of mine had one of his Energizer batterys leak and I was told to keep everyone updated, so here it is.
That freind on mine with a MXT that had 8 of the Energizer alkiline batteries in it and one of them leaked. The batteries all showed 3/4 charged other then the leaky one which had 1/2 charge in it when it leaked. We notice that it was getting a low battery signal when we seen it had leaked into the case of the detector and it showed the white corrosin from the battery acid.
This I beleive was back in late October and he got ahold of Energizer and was told to send it in to be checked out and repaired. He was told they would get back to him, so late in Nov he calls to see what is happening and got a run around and they couldnt even tell if they received it yet. He was told to call back the next day and when he did no one seem to know anything about it and to call back as the person that knows anything wasnt in. He calls back and that person is out, but will call my freind back, but never has. He calls again and find out they have received it, but nothing is done yet.
What it looks like is that they are giving him a run around and nothing is being done at this time as it has almost been 3 month and no detector.
My freind will be calling again and tell them if they cant do anything with it to pay him for a new detector as this has been close to 3 months now and he dont have a detector to use, even though we cant detect up here the point is if they want us detectors users to use their batteries they better make them better,or take care of the warrenty issues of their batteries.
