Became life PGA member & found my first ring with the GT all in the same day!

One can only dream lol I found a Partners Club Life member PGA type button. (I couldn't even excel at mini-golf never mind the PGA lol) The other is a tiny little sterling silver ring with stones. As you can see from the pictures, not much more than the diameter of a pen. Pretty smooth tone at 176 on my meter. Jumped down to 175 and back up to 176 when I turned 90... started thinking a pulltab of some sort.( It was so hot today, at the very end of my hunt, ready to wrap it up and go get something cold to drink) I didn't know if I wanted to bend down and dig it up lol the heat zapped all my energy. So I said to myself, "self, this is why you are out here to begin with, now bend down and dig the thing up" So I did. To my surprise, approx 3" down, this little ring came out of the extremely dry dirt. Also earlier in my hunt I found some sort of barn apparatus / ring find. Hit a solid 180. Any ideas? This is the 1800's former farm / field that is now a ball field / tennis & basketball court.

The "mystery" ring looks to be made of brass or bronze.
I have found a couple similar to the one you have, but don't have a clue as to what it was part of.
I'm thinking it may have been the loop that attaches the strap of old bib overalls to the the clip.
I have seen some that were found that had both parts.
I bet it did sounded off good though!!

The mystery ring had a nice solid tone, no wavering at all.

I think the ring is to go on the end of a yoke but not 100% sure but is a nice brass find and the ring is great, now you have something to give to your wife , ya the heat is bad hear to 103 f

the sad part is that it wouldn't even fit on the tip of her pinky finger- too tiny of a diameter.

That silver ring looks old. Most silver rings are going to read 180 but real small stuff might read a bit lower like that. I would expect (can't remember, have to look at my chart) that hal dimes probably read lower too. Which reminds me, read some where that there were more hal dimes in circulation than dimes, which would then mean that you should expect more of them lost...yet I've only dug one. Anybody know if that's true?

I do want to clarify that that the tone was solid and smooth just the meter dipped one digit then jumped back up. Now see, then tone stayed consistent to me anyways (maybe there was such a slight variation in tone my ears couldn't pick up when it dipped to 175 then jumped back to 176) This is very possible knowing that I have hearing loss and can't hear all tones- especially the higher ones.
