From the land of the Bluenose.......with a window of opportunity of 3 hours that was threatened by overcast skies this bouy dug his digging clothes out of the hamper and headed to Lake Banook. Started at Birch Cove and apprehended a few modern coppers and a George V silver dime with no date that was thinner than my wallet on the day before payday. Also secured a nice 1951 commerative nickel and a golf ball stamped "Canada Dry" which along with the others will be given to my family who all, save for me, are afflicted with the terrible golf disease.
From there it was off to Robin's Donut's for a pit stop and a great cup of joe before the assault on Graham's Grove which to my dismay was filled with people doing the fetch thing with their respective "Rovers." Not one did I see with a bag handy for doggy dew. Thinking of changing my posts heading to "From the Land of the Doggy Dew." A few pennies and I was out of there least one of those mongrels mistook me for a bone or worse...a fire hydrant!

Last stop was behind the closed down YMCA where there is a small beach and swimming area that is no longer in use. Have swished here in the past with Andy Eh but never ventured a land dig here before. First target was a proverbial penny and the second.........good thing I had stopped earlier at Robin's as I would have definately done the dew in my trousers as out popped a diamond ring!

After I calmed down and having looked at the ring at least 20 times I resumed my hunt along the adjacent shoreline. Ever hear the phrase "Hook line and sinker," well I found that next and tucked it into my finds pocket and not realizing that in the process hooked a whopper of a 240 pound Bluenoser. With the aid of my dull digging knife I managed to extract the hook with only "minor" damage to my pants. Sure Marie won't complain now of having nothing to do this evening while I am at work
