Beautiful day to go hunting

We got to spend a couple of hours hunting today and again, I got silver skunked, but got some nice stuff though.

Another pea shooter and an advertising thimble from Round Oak Ranges and Furnaces. The thimble is from the late 1800's to the early 1900's, they went out of business in 1915.

Four wheats, one smashed and an 1881 IH in pretty sad shape. The Memorial Metal for Frances E Willard is pretty cool as well. She was an American educator, temperance reformer, and women's suffragist. Her influence was instrumental in the passage of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution according to a Google search. I never heard of her............. it is amazing what a history lesson we get just by researching our finds........ what a hobby....

Holy cow, I just looked the metal up on Ebay, makes me wish I didn't clean it with a wire brush.......http://www.ebay.com/itm/OLD-FRANCES-WILLARD-PROMISE-MEDAL-ALCOHOL-PROHIBITION-TEMPERENCE-SUFFRAGE-TOKEN-/370935938673?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item565d813e71

Interesting hunt Larry. Most valuable aluminum I've seen. That is a surprising price for a medallion.
Good work! HH!

Nothing wrong with those finds. At least you got a variety of things. I would happily take an Indian no matter of it's shape. That's why we cut our plugs and see what's awaiting us.

I love that thimble.........Hint hint! You sure beat my butt but that's OK, I don't have to clean them all either.
