Beautiful day to be out on the Water!

After the beating my body took yesterday at Horseshoe Bay I decided to explore a couple of islets close to my home instead. Tour boats take tourists snorkelling here and it is a favorite place for boaters to raft up an go for a swim, King's Point. I portaged the clear kayak down to my beach and paddled around the pennisula to King's Point.

It was a perfect morning, calm and sunny so I beached my kayak and got down to it. I can't say if the tourists and boaters have left any jewellery behind but they sure left a load of pull tabs. The place was riddled with them, very target rich but very poor targets.

I did find a sea cucumber mid way through my hunt which was pretty kewl, perfectly harmless but very wierd looking.

After two hours of nothing but pull tabs and 3 dimes I decided to head back to my own beach. On the way home I did a paddle by inspection of my mate's boat as I had promised when they went away to Wales at Christmas, Everything is A-Ok.

Pulled into my own beach after a 15 minute paddle and the Princess came down with a Dark'n Stormy and some tuna fish sandwiches for a lunch on the beach. I did a quick spin after lunch but I'd gotten sunburned at King's Point so my heart wasn't in it. (just a little more clad for my trouble)

Just as we were packing up some church goers came down to the public beach beside ours for a baptism, so it really was a surf church kind of day!

Hope you all scored up more loot than I did but I can guarantee you didn't have anymore fun.

Cheers,

to move from where I've had winter to deal with every year since I was born. What a paradise and that's just a phenomenally kayak to have down there!

Any finds you can make would be icing on the cake.

This past Christmas was my third in Bermuda and even though there was no snow at my home in Canada, I didn't miss it one little bit.
With the volume of pull tabs I encountered today the scent of gold is pretty thoroughly masked. I will be back though, even if I was more than a little disappointed with the results today.

Cheers to All,

Jees Dave anybody but you.:sadwalk: You are just way to dangerous with a detector in your hand. A week of hunting by a guy with your touch and there wouldn't be any gold left for the rest of us.
Just kidding really! It is a great place to live and practice our great hobby. It is awfully pricey to visit even in the low season which is now but it is well worth the trip. If you ever make down here please give me a shout and we'll hook up for some killer hunting at some of my favorite haunts.
You have a standing offer to hunt with me anytime.

Cheers,

It's made of the same tough plastic that they make fighter jet canopies out of. Easy maintainance, just keep it clean and don't run it up on the rocks.

ClearBlueHawaii.com Try this link to find out more about clear kayaks. This one sells for around $1,400 US but if you check the net you may be able to find a better deal.

Real great pics Bda. Thanks for sharing.I like that Kayak. Too pricy for me tho' I would love Santa to bring one for me.
BTW I see what I think are casuarina trees in the background. Am I correct? Some beautiful beaches. What is the water temp around this time of year?
