& got into the woods before the hunters do. We had a lead on some cellar holes & found & hunted a couple with bags over the C$/Excel. One foundation was very early, & my best find there was this colonial pewter knee buckle. They are often found in pieces, so this is a great find around here.....it hit as a +17 on the C$.....

Revolutionary pewter buttons are often dug with no edges left around here, but this area was like a rocky sandy soil! Like the stuff that S. Jersey Don pulls those sick coppers out of. If there's a colonial copper or largie out in that woods it's gonna be super nice! This pewter buckle proved it. Also, it was preserved with an iron pin in the middle...you can see the iron stains.......HH, Bill

there was quite a bit of discussion about "saving" this large site for the big NEC$ hunt.
But, I guess we can call what we did....."walking the sight" right?

It's perfectly OK to collect money upfront from the unsuspecting and uneducated in order to finance a couple free "bored and budie campyout hunts". This is performing a great service as you will know where not to go and thus send the paying customers to waste their time, er.. uhh.... I mean learn all about real relic hunting while you concentrate on the prime spots and even bottom feed if you need to so your finds will be fitting for the shyster, er.. I mean.. the hero that you are. Yeah, that's the ticket! :D Oh yeah, and another tip..... while standing in front of a mirror, practice your best poker face so that you show no sign of emotion when you say the phrase "vurgin sight"
