Well me and hunting buddy got out for a couple hours yesterday .We started out in a new spot on a farm but didn't find a lot there a little clad and a bunch of heavy fishing weights so then we went to one of the older baseball fields we been hunting lately . There we found some more clad and I dug this older buffalo Nickel and also dug a 1965 nickel the rest were newer than that . The buffalo date was wore off so not sure how old it really is came out of the ground red colored that's why its so dark in the picture.
Very nice Harold. I LOVE those nickels. Good going and maybe if you took a brass brush to it, you might be able to see the date just a bit. But then, maybe not. It won't ruin the nickel any more than it is since it's been in the dirt and discolored. I have also soaked them in white vinegar for a few days. Do NOT do it to any coins of value! DO NOT! Thanks for sharing and HH, Nancy
There should be old silver at this site as well. With that Buff that dates the area for sure. Hit it hard I think you can do better there. Stick with it. Nice find for sure.
