Bean field getting tough but it still gives

I had to work today, so pops heads to the field solo. I get to work and the computers are down, so I get my 2 hr show up pay and head to the house. I grab my gear and hit the field. I started in the "Iron zone" with the hockey puck, after a few hrs nothing. I put the 8" on and worked around the outside of the trashy area, still nothing. We have hit this place pretty hard. Some areas of these fields look like the surface of the moon. Well I put the 10 1/2" on and went out in to some clean open field. I was swinging 3"+ to clear the bean stalks and hit this 1834 Capped Bust 5c 6" down, that 10 1/2" coil is deep!! I picked up a 1897 IH and pops had a pre-civil war navy button that needs a little straighten.
Very slow day, but a very good finish. Enjoy and Good Luck!
