Beale, how do the Sun Rays And RATS compare to each other?

I'm not Beale and have not tried any of the Sun Rays, but I received a set of the Rats for Christmas and love them. I use them on my DFX and can now hear even the slightest tones and have noticed the ability to hear some now that I couldn't before. Among other things they block most of the ambient noise, making it easier to focus on and hear any signals.

Never tried the sunrays but I do have another leading brand made for metal detecting and the rats are by far the best sound and comfort and fit. The others have a tinny sound and the ear cups are to small and after an hour or so they really are a pain. With the rats you just never know there on your head , I use them on my xterra 70 now and had them on my xterra 50 before I just would not buy another brand , for my use. I think one company is building most of the other brands under contract so they all have about the same look and feel and sound.

Well I am Beale!

I like both. The RATs are what I use now. I like the way the tones sound a bit better? I for sure like the "RAT tail" cord. It just seems to not kink up and is field replaceable. I also like the fact that I do not at times bump mu compatability switch? On the Ray's I would hit it and have no sound. I would have to turn it back on/off. That is impossible to do on the RATs. Very well made and easy to wear phones. They get the nod for 1st choice, Beale.

I must have a big head the rat "s seem to fit tight?....I love the sunray pro 's...I do hit the switch every now and then ...but I can handle that.

I will agree the RATs are a bit tighter. On thier home page the owner even describes how to make this adjustment. Basically you "bend" them a bit at the top of the phones. Do not grab the cups to do this just the top center. I have a big ole noggin also. The Sun Rays do fit better on my head, Beale.
