beachHunter 300 or Tesoro Tiger Shark

Which is better for salt water, wet and dry sand the Tesoro Tiger Shark or the BeachHunter 300?
Thank You
Jim

I believe due to it's multi frequencies, the BHID 300 would be the better of the 2 in salt water. Reading posts, the Tiger does not do that well in salt water, but is the #1 killer for fresh water hunting.

I am from the west coast where there is alot of blacksand. The BHID works well in saltwater if you don't have alot of blacksand. The Tigershark needs to be ground balanced constantly in the saltwater. So take your pick. If you ever hunt in freshwater the Tigershark is hard to beat.

That's great it works for you. Where I hunt there is heavy blacksand and didn't have much luck with the BHID in discrimination mode. It worked great where the blacksand was very light. My friend had a BHID also and when he called Whites, he was told the BHID was basically made for the East Coast and was also told that the Surfmaster PI would work better for him on the West coast. I liked the BHID alot, but it just didn't out hunt the Tigershark for my type of hunting, which is in freshwater 80% of the time.

well i hope the 300 is way better than the BHID i had last year! neather one was very good in salt water but in fresh water the Tiger Shark was awsome.but my Excal ll blows them both out of the water. imho.

The Excal II is no doubt the better unit in saltwater but being better in freshwater than the Tigershark ................ ?? JMO

THE 300 WILL ALSO GET SMALL GOLD JUST LIKE THE TIGER SHARK... I HAVE HUNTED SIDE BY SIDE WITH THE EXCAL 1000...THE 300 WAS DEEPER!!! THE 300 ALSO GETS GOLD THE EXCAL WON'T SEE...SMALL EARING,BIG HOOPS,CHAINS.

Chains as in small dainty chains or big honking chains? Gold and silver? I am no big fan of digging tiny stuff as it is so if it ain't big enough ....I don't want it any ways......I have been toying with the thought of getting a fresh water detector....and it is between the BHID and the Tigershark.....I like the Excal 800 but do want to find more chains.......I just got to customize my scoop....it has 5/8" holes which lets small Pain in the azz things fall thru and I waste alot of time trying to find them....How are you doing with the water hunting by the way...any good finds?....

I get gold chains...small ones too..gold earings ect..the tiger will get these too but the 300 is deeper on gold rings and other gold/silver targets in fresh water!!! yes the scoop issue is no fun!!! I still need to mod. mine....spending 15 min to get a target is not fun!!
