Beachcomber - seaman of low moral character !?

Beach comber \Beach comber\ [Written also beach-comber.] (Naut.) A vagrant seaman, usually of low character, who loiters about seaports, particularly on the shores and islands of the Pacific Ocean.

The beachcombers was a popular canadian series in the 70's. It was about a group of people combing the beaches and shore for lost wood logs. My grandfather who was a popular french canadian actor played one of the most popular's program caracter father. The Caracter was Nick and was supposed to be a greek immigrant. My grandfather played his visiting father and the french accent made it look more Greek looking !
