I'm new with at pro and I usually take my whites dual field MD,so what setting it be good for the water?Im not used to the pro mode yet so can I use zero mode instead at 35 discrimination, thanxs

Hi M.R.S I don't do much beach hunting but alot of the guys/ gals on here do so just hang around awhile and you will get alot of responses

In the wet sand and in the water you will have to run in pro Mode.
Auto GB often but if the detector is still a bit noisy then go to manual GB and take it down a couple of points negative. How you set up the detector will vary from beach to beach due to wide ranging black sand and salt concentrations.
Where you set the Iron Audio Disc is up to you.
I doubt that you will get the same stability as the Dual Field.

In salt water, ground balance the machine either in the water or wet sand or dry sand. Stay in these areas, as the machine will have to be reground balanc from one to the next. If running a little unstable, you can decrease the sensitivity, add more iron discrimination or manually lower or raise the ground balance numbers to get a little more stability.

Fresh water doesn't pose the same problems, so you will find it easier to ground balance the machine and do it less often.

I use pro zero with 3 to 5 on sensitivity. GB usually comes in at 10 to 14 in salt water but if you set it at 8ish runs a little quieter but expect a little chatter no matter how you set it up. It's easy to hear real targets over the chatter especially if it hits solid in both directions. Even with low sensitivity I get pull tabs at 9+ inches a lot. Hopes this helps, I've used the ATP on Galveston beaches for about a year now and can't justify getting one of the "beach machines" yet, it seems to do very well once you get used to how it runs in the salt water.
