Beach Volleyball Field

Hape

New member
I found the time to spend 1.5 hours yesterday and today hunting on a local beach ball field.
To be honest I expected that side to show me my first find of (cheap) jewellery. But all I found are these 16 coins, most of them "good old Deutsche Mark" and two modern European cent coins.

You wouldn't believe how many nails I found. Sizes from 3" to more needle than nail. I wouldn't play on that field without shoes...

I managed to wrote my "request for digging permit letters" to the local authorities in Bavaria and North Rhine Westphalia last week, looking forward to receive their answers. Hopefully I can start hunting for some medieval "treasures", soon.

Have a nice day, Peter

Btw, I have tested the bluetooth headphones I bought some time ago and I have to say, that they work great.

Thanks for the post Peter. It sounds like a nasty spot to play volley ball. It won't be long till you pull up some jewellery. in the mean time, coins are always a welcome sight.
Keep it up.
Mick Evans.

Hi Mick,

Thanks for the reply. As I cant hit the fields etc. in North Rhine Westphalia (Germany) without a digging permit I have to do some training on the local playgrounds, till I get one. The good thing is that, as digging in the sand is easy, playgrounds are a good location to do some pinpoint exercises. With all that nails and iron slag in the sand some "masking" training was available, too.

One thing I still surprised of: It's nearly 6 and a half years ago, that we got the EURO in Germany and from the 16 coins I found 14 coins are still the old currency "D-Mark". I do not think that the playground is existing for longer as 20 years, so a ratio of 2:1 would to be expected. Anyway, as you could change D-Mark into Euro without a deadline in Germany this is not a problem.

As I have a couple of days off next week I will go back to the beach volleyball field for sure. Hopefully you are right and I see my first jewellery.
