Beach settings?

Hey guys,
brand new to the Etrac site and I'm slowly learning the machine. I'm on vacation next week and heading to the beach for 7 days bringing my detectors. Anything special I should know about beach hunting with the Etrac? I already have some areas mapped out as we are going to a different state. I'm not sure if I'll spend time beach detecting or researching some old areas and searching those. Just wondering how the Etrac performs
along the shoreline. Thanks.

Use manual sensitivity and the E-Trac goes very deep so if you do not have a good scoop get one. Good luck and HH :minelab:

There's a whole section in Andy's - Minelab Explorer & E-Trac book on beach settings.

Good luck !

Don't get it wet. I know some only go out angle high in the water,But I was scared to even do that. I have a used CZ-20 I bought for the beach as I don't want to chance it. But that is just me and I love CZ's.

I have hunted the beach in New Jersey and Delaware a few dozen days in the last two years and have been very pleased with the E at the beach. Obviously you have to be very careful when working the water line to prevent water damage but so far that is the only drawback I could mention. Until I can spring the funds for an Excal I will be very content with the E. I have settled on using TTF just to avoid the false tones from deep iron that happen when using conductive sounds. I run the pattern that you can find on Goes4ever's site.

Good luck!!

Dave
