Beach produces again

I have had a ball at our local beach lately,we recently had a big storm that produced 5-6 metre swells, after the surf died down a bit I found an area about 200metres long that had been dug out by the action of the waves, well the first day I was picking up coin after coin,$59 dollars in $1 and $2 coins along with lots of older pre decimal coins,8 rings altogether one being 9ct gold, unfortunatly the stones in the gold ring are not diamonds, but hey I was still real happy. The pics show the results of two days within the same week,I think I have pretty well cleaned it out now,but sure am hoping for a bit more rough weather......jim

Nice hunting there! We could sure use some wave action here. Our beaches are really sanded in.

Sweet finds!!!

Congrats on the beach finds. Very nice.

Man I can only hope I will get as lucky as you did this weekend. I will be heading to the beaches for a full weekend hunt and so far I have yet to dig out my first ring. I have found silver coins and gold grillz, but have yet to pull out a ring. Hopefully this weekend is when I will get my first one!

Haha, yip always lots of trash, but there is a noticable lack of tear tabs and crown bottle tops,I guess the reason is they corrode away afrter a few years in the salt water, but there is a lot of ferrous debris along our beachs at the moment, the reason is we had a container ship with 1700 containers aboard ran onto a reef just of our coastline a year ago, lots of the containers and debris have washed ashore (no gold bars yet) After the last storm the ship has broken in two one half slipping into deeper water, salvage crews are still hard at work, the odd bit of oil is still coming ashore.A GOOGLE search on the ship called "RENA" should bring up more info.....cheers jim
