Houndawgg,

Great video, makes the post really interesting. I was South of Belmar at the first pavillion two weekends ago and found some change, but no jewelry. I did see another detectorist checking under the boardwalk on the beach. It is very interesting that you found a Belmar token. I have never found one in the area before.

and most of them are aluminium. The copper ones are usually covered with green oxidation. There's a lot of new hunters showing up, more and more, each year at Belmar, making the finds slim.

I believe the findings got slim after they knocked down the arcade. No more little kids losing their change.

Houndawgg,

Yes, I have noticed that the finds are slowing down. Last summer I counted almost 7 detectorists in one area of Belmar. You are also right that fresh drops are being found quickly.
