Beach hunting

Heading to the Jersey shore for 5 days with my CZ-70PRO for the first time. Since its May in the Northeast the beaches haven't been crowded since last yr. Any thoughts on where to hunt and what to look for?

N.J. beaches have been used for at least 150 years or so one could find old silver coins and the saltwater does a job on them and of course nice old jewelry. My advice would be to hunt the tide out and dig all as Tony says as tides have caused a washing machine affect and have found seated coins and class rings from the early 1900's so you are not neccesarily hunting for articles dropped from last season. You will need a good strong digger as the sand is really hard in the tide area..Many also hunt the dry sand but I found it was loaded with junk and clad, but could contain gold jewelry...
